Lansing, MI – October 10, 2016 – On Oct.19, Dale Carnegie Training of Southwest Michigan (DCT of SWMI) will commemorate the organization’s 104th anniversary by taking part in a new annual program: The Dale Carnegie Global Day of Giving. For its local event, DCT of SWMI will be running an assembly from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. for 500 youth at Eaton Rapids Middle School.

The Global Day of Giving assembly will focus on providing life skills to youth that revolve around five key themes: self-confidence, communication, human relations, leadership and positive attitude management. DCT of SWMI and Eaton Rapids Middle School officials are enthused about the techniques the youth will be taught to strengthen people skills and enhance their daily lives.

"We are so excited our students will have the opportunity to take part in the Global Day of Giving assembly," said Terri Lake, Principal of Eaton Rapids Middle School. "The skills the students will learn will not only benefit them during their middle school years but throughout their transition into adulthood as well."

The Global Day of Giving is a corporate initiative in which over 100 Dale Carnegie offices worldwide will be participating – including centers in Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, England, France, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Vietnam and many others – several thousand young people are expected to benefit from this event.

"Over the years, Dale Carnegie Franchisees have dedicated immense time and resources to enriching their communities, continuing our founder’s legacy through deep and longstanding local relationships," says Joe Hart, CEO of Dale Carnegie Training. "We are thrilled to mobilize our unsurpassed global network as a single unit on Oct. 19."
